My first impressions of The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I’ll give a quick preview to The Naturals in case someone doesn’t know what it’s about. It’s about a group of teenagers who all have special crime solving abilities, who are then recruited by the FBI to solve cold-cases. The main character, Cassie, has the ability to read people, even from a quick glance.
When I opened The Naturals, I expected it to be a bit faster paced similar to The Inheritance Games but it was actually a lot slower. I had read what I thought would only be roughly a fifth of the book only to find out I had made it through more than a third. While this might seem good, I thought it was a bit odd, as the plot hadn’t really developed much. All that I had really learned was that Cassie accepted the job from the FBI, and moved into a facility in Virginia.
I am very interested in the story, as it seems creepy and eerie, while still being relatable through the main characters' struggles. But, I am currently in the middle of the book, and can’t decide if i should finish the rest of the series, so for my blog post, I figured I could see if anyone's read it and has any advice.
Thanks for reading my blog post, I look forward to your comments!

I haven't read it yet, but it's been on my TBR for a very long time because everyone I've talked to has said it's really good. I vote you finish it!
ReplyDeleteLove this kind of mid-book reflection post! It’s interesting seeing someone’s thoughts during reading instead of after finishing.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I've been wanted to read this book for a long time! You should finish it and then write a blog post about how you think it was at the end.
